Recently Suncamper Motorhomes had the opportunity arise to sponsor what we truly think is a great cause. One of our chassis suppliers for your motorhomes approached us about an event that they were partaking in, asking us if we wanted to be involved. Upon hearing the event and for the cause it was for, we dove head first in and couldn’t wait to get started.
Rio’s Legacy is a charity organisation, raising funds to build and support hospices here in Australia for children and their families. Founded under truly tragic circumstances, after Ryan & Karen lost their son Rio, they want to help more Australian families, and continue his legacy. In Australia, there are only three hospices dedicated for helping children under the age of 18 with life limiting conditions, Rio’s Legacy, aims to bring around more to support them and their families. ‘
Over the past couple of weeks, Ryan and his team of friends and sponsors have undertaken a massive feat, running from a hospice located in Brisbane over 900kms to Sydney, finishing in on the site of a potential new hospice location. A truly incredible feat, battling through some very hot days and undulations, raising awareness for a great cause.
Suncamper sponsored him and his running team by donating 2 motorhomes for his journey, the Saxby F-Series (a 6 seater and 5 berth variant) and a custom Sovereign unit (a 6 berth motorhome). These motorhomes were perfect for his journey as after a long day of running, they could pull up and rest in the shade of these campers preparing for the next day. As we all know this is one of the pros of having a motorhome, with the ease and accessibility one of the reasons we all love a Suncamper.
